The District Urban Development Agency (DUDA), Raga is committed to maintaining a clean, healthy, and environmentally friendly town through efficient solid waste management. Proper waste management helps protect public health, conserve natural resources, and create a cleaner environment for present and future generations.

Solid waste management includes the collection, segregation, transportation, processing, recycling, and safe disposal of municipal waste. Effective management begins with every household and business by segregating waste at the source.

Our Objectives

  • Ensure 100% door-to-door waste collection.
  • Promote waste segregation at source.
  • Reduce waste sent to dumpsites through recycling and composting.
  • Eliminate open dumping and open burning of waste.
  • Improve cleanliness across all Colony/Sector of Raga Town.
  • Encourage active community participation in keeping the town clean.

Waste Segregation

Residents are requested to separate waste into the following categories:

  • Wet Waste: Food scraps, vegetable peels, garden waste (should be used for composting).
  • Dry Waste: Paper, plastic, glass, metal, cardboard.
  • Sanitary Waste: Diapers, sanitary napkins, bandages.
  • Domestic Hazardous Waste: Batteries, CFL bulbs, expired medicines, paint containers and chemicals.

Proper segregation improves recycling and safe disposal.

Services

At present DUDA, Raga  provides:

  • Door-to-door waste collection.
  • Transportation of waste to designated dumping ground.

Citizen Responsibilities

Every resident can contribute by:

  • Segregating waste at home.
  • Using designated waste bins.
  • Avoiding littering and illegal dumping.
  • Reducing single-use plastics.
  • Composting biodegradable waste wherever possible.
  • Participating in cleanliness drives.
