Kamle District

The district derives its name from the Kamle River, a tributary of the Subansiri River, which flows through the region and holds both geographical and cultural significance for local communities. Kamle District shares its boundaries with five districts of Arunachal Pradesh—Papum Pare, Keyi Panyor, Kra Daadi, Upper Subansiri, and Lower Siang—and also shares an interstate border with Assam.
