Economics & Statistics

Key Functions & Activities:

• Conducts the National Sample Survey (NSS) across the district by following schedules from the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India.
• Carries out any survey as and when directed by Directorate of economics and statistics, Itanagar.

Administrative & Civic Services

1. Oversees Aadhaar enrolment activities (UIDAI) as a nodal department.
2. Implements the Civil Registration System (CRS) under the RBD Act’1969, Registration and issue of Births and Deaths Certificates thereof.
3. Issue Marriage certificate under the Arunachal Pradesh Recording of Marriage Act’2008 within the jurisdiction of the Kamle district.
4. Publishes annually district level statistical compilations such Statistical Handbook and District at a Glance.
5. Conduct and survey of Economic census which provides a comprehensive database for planning and development, especially for the unorganized sector of the economy.
6. As a nodal department Conduct of General Population Census, which helps to provide crucial demographic, social and economic data for effective governance, policy making and resource allocations.
7. Creation of New villages for upcoming general population census.

Events & Training

• Hosts National Statistics Day annually on June 29, honoring Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis.
• Impart training sessions, such as National Sample Survey (NSS) and other related trainings as and when required to the field staffs.
