Department of Fisheries,Kamle District,Raga serve asresponsible for formulation of policy & scheme relating to development of inland fisheries of the district. Identification of eligible beneficiaries through involvement of Panchayati Raj institution, selection & approval by District Level Monitoring Committee Members.Timely implementation of centrally & state sponsored schemes.

Functions &Activities

1. Surveys & data collection:
2. To survey potential areas for development of fish ponds/tanks/lakes and reservoirs in term of fish and seeds production to provide food security, nutrition to the local populace.
3. To carryout surveys of aquatic life, investigate fish mortalities, study water quality, monitor fish stocks level and undertake technical project work.
4. To manage fisheries resources for uplifting of the rural people.
5. To ensuring self sufficiency in fish and fish seed production in the district.
6. To generate self-employment to unemployed youth of the district by encouraging them for taking up fish farming as alternate and permanent source of income.
7. To enhance fish production and productivity through expansion, intensification, diversification and productive utilization of land and water.
8. To doubling fishers and fish farmers incomes and generation of employment.
9. Social, physical and economic security for fishers and fish farmers.
